Hello! I am a Ph.D. student in the ReNeu Robotics Lab under Dr. Ashish Deshpande at The University of Texas at Austin. My research leverages human characterization and system modeling analysis to optimize physical human-robot interaction for upper-body wearable devices. I dream of future robots that seamlessly integrate into daily life to provide ergonomic and meaningful experiences.
I grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Rice University, graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Asian Studies in May 2019. During my undergraduate years, I spent tons of time at the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen (OEDK) developing a strong foundation in hands-on design and earning an Engineering Design Minor. I developed my interest in wearable robotics research as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Marcia O’Malley’s Mechatronics and Haptic Interfaces (MAHI) Lab. In addition to my undergraduate experience, I interned at Houston Mechatronics Inc. (HMI) for two summers and assisted in the mechanical design of Aquanaut, an underwater transformer robot.
Outside of work, I enjoy sports, both watching (baseball & basketball) and playing (squash & tennis), as well as traveling to new places, enjoying exciting foods, and learning about history and cultures.
